When an Total eclipse occurs? 

It happens when the Earth, the Moon and the Sun align perfectly. In this case, the Moon covers the solar disk because it is in the middle of them. In the Earth occurs the total shade only in a delimited strip.

 

COMMUNES OF THE COQUIMBO REGION WITH TOTAL ECLIPSE

In 7 of the 15 communes of the COQUIMBO REGION total shade will be appreciated, that is, the moon will cover 100% of the solar disk. Truly an unmissable event!

COMMUNES OF THE COQUIMBO REGION WITH PARTIAL TOTAL ECLIPSE

While in 8 of the 15 communes of the region there will be produced partial shade. The impressive thing is that no commune has less of 95% coverage of the solar disk. Definitely, in the Coquimbo Region you will experience the 2019 Solar Eclipse!

How to SAFELY see THE SOLAR ECLIPSE?

You should see the sun only with appropriate protection. You only should use eclipse certified glasses, lenses and filters. You should never use blurred photographic films, x-rays, photographic filters, sunglasses, tinted glasses, negatives, CD’s or blurred films.

OFFICIAL OBSERVATION POINTS OF SOLAR ECLIPSE

The Regional Government has determined Official Observation Points in each commune of the Coquimbo Region, in these points you can enjoy this beautiful event in a safe and entertaining way. The defined criterion to select these public spaces are: connectivity to the main route, security, timely attention in case of emergency, accessibility to basic services and places with experience in massive events.
